Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased baking pans.
- Bake for about 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.
