Christmas Cookies


Description

Chewy, sweet Christmas cookies filled with chocolatey goodness, perfect for gatherings or cozy evenings by the fire.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased baking pans.
  8. Bake for about 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.
